In an effort to continue "cleaning up our own backyard," Captain Kurt Lieber and ODA's hard-working volunteer crew took a trip to the LA Harbor lighthouse, an area often visited by commercial fishermen. Sure enough, the fisherman left their trash behind! Thankfully, we were able to haul up materials that would otherwise still be killing precious marine life. After a one-hour two-man dive, we scored big time, reeling in 1,000 feet of line and 150 pounds of debris (including three traps each weighing 40 lbs). There is much more there, and with your help we will go back soon and get it!
