Today is World Clean Up Day!

You know Ocean Defenders Alliance is all about cleaning up. Our focus is coastal waters.

Well, today, people in 180 countries are uniting to clean up our planet in different ways. If you can grab a special friend and get out in your own neighborhoods today to pick up any trash you see, that would be great! We’ll be doing the same and also taking our boat out tomorrow to clean the seas.

I’d like to introduce you to a special friend of ODA’s – Laura Angelini. She was featured in our Southern California neighborhood newsletter this week – check out the Huntington Beach News.

The article talks about Laura’s strong support of ODA and clean oceans. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her for almost a decade now and I can tell you that her enthusiasm is contagious!  She’s been a vocal supporter of ODA’s ever since she found out about what we do.  She’s gone out with us on the boat and on several beach cleanups. 

As I got to know her better, I found out that she’s a singer.  Being the music nut that I am, I went to see her perform at several venues around Orange County.  Her voice is phenomenal, and she writes uplifting songs about helping to heal the planet. You can hear samples of her songs on her website and then hear the entire song on Spotify.

I hope you get a chance to hear her in person. She performed for us at our last fundraiser in Huntington Harbor last year and she’s promised to do it again for our next one.  Lucky us! Hope we get a chance to do it again in 2021.
